Moving to Davis and then Woodland from Oakland was a big change. The pace of life is driven more by the university schedule, the tide of students, and the rhythm of agriculture. Every move we have made has affected my artwork. This seems obvious, but I am not one to carry my conceptual baggage everywhere I go. I find new objects and ideas wherever I am, and I pick them up to assemble them into new hybrid things that hopefully speak to where they are from and point to someplace new at the same time.
