These smaller paintings are acrylic and ink on paper. Some have collage elements as well. I have been working through these quickly, trying to keep a spontaneous feel while investigating the interaction of materials.
Some of the imagery is reminiscent of electrical circuit diagrams but here used as a stand-in for figures and networks, neural and social. I have been using more overt brain imagery these days as I confront my Parkinson's Disease more openly. The cognitive issues that people with PD encounter are as varied as the physical symptoms but are less obvious.
As always when I am blessed with some quantity of material, it will find its way into my work. The stencils are the latest cache of useful cast-off. These appeal to me because they are at once archetypal, models for pristine lettering, and failures, almost impossible to use to achieve that promised perfection.
